Bridge over the Danube River
Linz Austria
Crossing the Danube in Linz, this bridge extends 420 meters in length and 34 meters in width, forming a vital connection within the city’s infrastructure. Designed with equal consideration for pedestrians and cyclists, the bridge integrates dedicated footpaths and cycle lanes, encouraging movement while offering expansive views over the river and the surrounding urban landscape.
The superstructure is conceived as light and transparent, allowing the bridge to sit discreetly within its setting while responding to the scale of both the river and the city through which it flows. Attention to context, users, and movement defines the project, resulting in an intervention that feels both functional and quietly expressive.
CIG contributed to the realization of the bridge, supporting the technical development and execution of the structure in close alignment with the architectural vision.
