The ArcelorMittal Orbit is a monumental public sculpture by Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond, commissioned by the Greater London Authority as a permanent landmark for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London. Created for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the structure stands at 114.5 meters tall, making it the tallest sculpture in the United Kingdom.

Rejecting the traditional pyramidal tower form, the Orbit is conceived as a flowing, intertwined structure that appears in constant motion. Its spiraling geometry unfolds differently from every angle, encouraging visitors to experience the sculpture by moving around it and through it, rather than viewing it from a single fixed perspective.

CIG contributed to the realization of the project through the fabrication of the corten steel canopy. Our involvement supported the material expression and architectural presence of the sculpture, forming part of a complex collaboration between art, engineering, and large-scale public infrastructure.
