Northern Spire is a 105-meter-tall cable-stayed bridge spanning the River Wear in Sunderland. As the city's first new road bridge in more than 45 years, it improves connectivity with two traffic lanes, dedicated cycleways, and pedestrian paths while supporting the ongoing regeneration of the surrounding area. Its 340-meter span is supported by a striking A-frame pylon, making it one of the city's most recognizable engineering landmarks.

CIG was responsible for the engineering of the bridge's double-curved sections and the production of its complex 3D components. Through advanced engineering and precision manufacturing, we helped realize one of the bridge's most technically demanding elements.
